Using Bluetooth to revolutionise landlines

Cambridge Consultants offer a number of Bluetooth® product reference designs that enable very fast development of new Bluetooth products. Each reference design harnesses the power of xIDE for Interface Express™ to create high-performance applications within CSR’s BlueCore™ to achieve cost leading performance.

Reference designs can be be tailored by licensees to take on an individual and distinctive look and feel. xIDE for Interface Express enables licensees to alter the behaviour of their products to create value added differentiation.

Each reference design includes:

A hardware schematic of a low bill-of-materials (BoM) design.
An example software application that can be used as the base product software and can be extended using xIDE for Interface Express.
A license for xIDE for Interface Express.
A document that describes the reference design and how to tailor it.

Cordless Telephony reference designs:

A Bluetooth Cordless Telephony Profile (CPT) Access Point with a sub $15 BoM.
A Bluetooth Cordless Telephony Profile (CPT) Handset.

The Cordless Telephony Profile (CTP) allows mobile handsets to be used to receive and make fixed-line calls. The profile enables the handset to use the Bluetooth radio to connect to fixed line networks, when at home or in the office Bluetooth can also be used for locally, for intercom calls

A Single Chip Bluetooth CTP solution has power, and cost benefits over competing technologies, and presents a commercial opportunity to Mobile services companies in differentiating their offerings.
