Cambridge Consultants to support ip.access in new product development ip access

Cambridge Consultants also announces its broad range of wireless technology demonstrations at Mobile World Congress 2011

Cambridge Consultants, a leading technology product design and development firm, today announced that it has been appointed by ip.access, the award-winning developer of femtocell and picocell solutions, to help with the development of a range of femtocell technologies targeted at new uses and applications. ip.access turned to Cambridge Consultants due to its extensive experience and expertise in wireless development - through its work in a huge variety of wireless technologies and markets Cambridge Consultants has grown into one of the largest independent wireless development teams in the world.

“We continue to strive for innovation that will drive the future growth of the picocell and femtocell infrastructure market and help deliver the dynamic changes that are needed in cellular networks,” commented Dr Nick Johnson, CTO of ip.access. “Working with companies of Cambridge Consultants’ calibre helps us to bring those changes ever closer. Their expertise will play a critical role in the rapid turnaround of complex design challenges and we look forward to unveiling the results of this project.”

Mobile World Congress 2011

As well as discussing the ip.access announcement, Cambridge Consultants will be demonstrating a range of new and existing technologies and platforms at Mobile World Congress 2011. Cambridge Consultants has been active in the emerging technology area of Whitespace radio, and will be demonstrating its UK Whitespaces database.

Cambridge Consultants will also be showcasing the latest version of its Bluetooth accessory development toolkit that can provide support for Apple authenticated accessories for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This toolkit targets accessories that are more than just audio accessories, enabling smartphone integration with almost any product.

Lastly, Cambridge Consultants is demonstrating Centaur, its comprehensive GSM/GPRS/EDGE/E-EDGE physical layer (PHY) reference design.  The novel reference design enables the development of advanced cellular base-stations and femtocells that incorporate 2G and 2.75G capability, addressing the ultra low-cost, mass-market and integration requirements of the developing world.

Cambridge Consultants technologies are available for demonstration at Mobile World Congress, 14 -17 February 2011 (Stand E68, Hall 1).
